One of the blessings of being in a Team Ministry is we use a variety of ministers to lead or worship. One of the unexpected gifts of the COVID pandemic was we discovered the blessing of meeting as a Team, initially with the use of ZOOM and subsequently as we have re-introduced occasional Team Services, usually on 5th Sundays (typically 4 times a year). Nevertheless, a default challenge both for congregations and ministers is it is harder and takes longer for key messages to ripple across the piece and take root among us. This makes us not unlike the early church where for example the church in Corinth, Galatia or Thessalonica etc was probably made up of multiple small groups often meeting in people’s homes; so that when the Apostle wrote or visited the letter would be read and then passed on. Accordingly, and for the next few months as we face the challenges of a changing context, I thought it may be helpful to offer in writing a version of a sermon I will have preached in at least one of our churches in the hope it helps strengthen our sense of belonging together and to offer some helpful insights that are often better digested slowly than in the course of a Sunday service! The LINK HERE will take you to the first and is essentially what was preached at Eltisley on September 1st; when, in addition to Eltisley congregants, there were others present from Caxton, Elsworth and Papworth Everard.
